Abstract

In this chapter I will attempt to briefly analyse the evolution of the Russian reform strategy, its main achievements and faults. This is a topic that in the last years was attracting most of attention in political studies of contemporary Russia,1 often provoking heated debates among academics inside Russia and abroad. This is also a favourite topic for many journalists that cover Russia, because it is often directly linked to many events that make top news world-wide: crime, big money, shady deals, political crises, etc.
