Performance Measures

  • Chapter
European Capital Markets

Abstract

This chapter first analyses the competitive performance of financial centres in the recent past in two categories: their ability to attract talented personnel and to capture market share in important product areas. We begin by discussing the most vital resource in investment banking and related businesses, highly skilled professionals. It is people who generate revenues and come up with the ideas, for instance to create new markets. How they are distributed by centre is one of our main topics.
