Abstract
Th. Declaration of Independence of the 13 states of which the American Union then consisted was adopted by Congress on 4 July 1776. On 30 Nov. 1782 Great Britain acknowledged the independence of the U.S.A., and on 3 Sept. 1783 the treaty of peace was concluded.
