Abstract
The theatrical humor dynamic has undergone interesting experimentation in an Irish context over the past few years by virtue of a succession of productions mounted by the Dublin-based theater company Arambe Productions. Arambe, since its inception in 2003, has produced devised pieces as well as existing dramatic texts by African and Irish playwrights. Two productions in particular, The Kings of the Kilburn High Road (2006) and The Dilemma of a Ghost (2007), created distinctive twists on the humor transaction initiated by playwright and actualized in subsequent performance for a multicultural audience.
