Abstract
Power and politics are intensely debated topics in the study of international relations and political economy. These debates often focus on theories developed to explain the relational dynamics of states, IFIs, and corporations. This book provides readers with an opportunity to contrast theory with case studies to determine whether foreign interests exploit opportunities arising from financial crises. This chapter, in turn, focuses on Turkey’s experience with financial crises and the impact these crises have had on the Turkish banking sector (TBS).
