Abstract

As I have already shown, my informants are all physically active, and thanks to the enlargement of the athletic field, they have been able to pursue an athletic career into their later years. Athletics has come to occupy a prominent position in the conduct of their everyday lives and this has been fostered by the development of practices of regulation designed to maximise bodily resources and the development of an understanding of bodily processes which intersects with dominant narratives.
