Abstract

A series of demonstrations in the United States protesting against the war first started in New York with tens of thousands of demonstrators carrying signs and chanting “No More Bush,” and “Stop War in Iraq,” marching past Madison Square Garden, the site of the Republican National Convention August 29–September 2, 2004. The march was sponsored by United for Peace and Justice. Organizers said that as many as a quarter of a million demonstrators had taken part in the demonstrations.
