Abstract

US presidential elections have, in the past twenty years, received considerable attention from the Brazilian media, particularly given the importance of bilateral relations in the historical perspective. Currently, public opinion tends to concentrate its attention on issues directly affecting Brazilian interests, usually in the areas of finance and trade, as well as—to a lesser degree—on the global role of the United States as the sole military/strategic world power in the post-Cold War era.
