Abstract
Teaching-only positions of course are the norm in teaching-focused institutions, where all academics receive permanence and are promoted based on the evaluation of teaching and teaching-related activities. Full-time teaching-only positions are also becoming more common at research-focused institutions where, in most institutions, there is also a possibility of permanent status. Despite recent statistics showing the growing number of teaching-only positions at research-focused universities internationally, there is scant research about the experiences of individuals in these types of positions.
