Abstract

This chapter starts with an interview to General Videla from his cell, two years prior to his death. In a ‘tell-all’ book, journalist Ceferino Reato asked Videla about the fate of the disappeared. The chapter continues with a detailed summary of the historical context of the last dictatorship, the concept of ‘subversive’, ‘final disposition’ and the links between armed forces and the print media. It also included a visual analysis of the media reporting before and after the coup d’état.
