Abstract

This chapter reinforces the notion of journalism as a calling. It recognises the value of human rights as a news values and explains the important relationship between human rights journalism and journalism for social change. The chapter concludes that journalism is a powerful conduit that feeds vital information to audiences, often at great risk to the journalist, so that society can ultimately be better informed to make decisions that have the capacity to change the world.
