Abstract
Rodelle Weintraub examines Shaw’s life rather than his works. Focusing on his self-confessed sexual conduct in light of his celibate marriage. she discusses Shaw’s sexual exploits as she tackles the question of whether he was a philanderer. As the story of Shaw’s marriage to Charlotte has been covered in some detail elsewhere, there is no chapter devoted to their marriage here. Nevertheless, Shaw was a sexual being and exercised his heterosexual nature before and after his marriage to Charlotte.
