Abstract
In honor of Joe R. Feagin’s collaborative spirit, the introductory chapter includes personal reflections from contributors about Dr. Feagin. From stories of a 20-year-old Texas kid at a Baptist university (Baylor) who had the guts to stand-up to authoritarianism to stories of contributors’ first encounters with the now much beloved bolo-tie-wearing sociologist, the chapter is truly a celebration of the scholar, activist, mentor, teacher, and friend that Dr. Feagin is. He is unmistakably a major example of the way in which one person can have very significant and lasting positive effects. Contributors to this book honor his admonitions and actions for change through firsthand accounts. Standing in solidarity with him, they are a collective living embodiment of his legacy.
Authorship is shared equally among contributors.
