Abstract

This chapter examines more closely the nature and context of the official accounts of the three agencies responsible for deciding the outcome of the Rohingya refugees. The first section describes Myanmar ’s official position and perspective on the Rohingya problem, and its policy toward the refugee crisis. The second section describes the Bangladesh government’s position and the solutions it offers. The third section presents the views of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as a non-state actor, on the Rohingya problem. This section presents an analysis of the perspectives from all three agencies, and possible implications.
