The Alchemy of Psychotherapy: Transforming Discontent into Power

Abstract

In this chapter, I try to formulate a general theoretical statement which includes therapy and empowerment processes while addressing politics as well. It first occurred to me that political discontent may translate into power on reading an email a colleague of mine wrote about something that happened to her in her own therapy.1 Here is what she wrote:
