Abstract
This chapter will continue the reconstruction started in the previous chapter by discussion the politicalization of neoliberalism, which began as an economic ideology, but was put into practice in the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly in Britain and the USA. It will briefly discuss the periodic crisis caused by the financialization of the system, such as the peso crisis, the Southeast Asian crisis and the dot-com bubble. This will be followed by a discussion of the opening of the Chinese economy, and the collapse of the Soviet Union. By the 1990s, America was the lone superpower and neoliberal capitalism was popularized as the only path to economic prosperity.
Economics Are the Method; the Object Is to Change the Heart and Soul.
