Abstract

This chapter engages in a penetrating analysis of the concept of Smith’s famous “invisible hand” thesis. The chapter benefits considerably from Warren Samuel’s groundbreaking study of the “invisible hand” argument. The chapter presents an Islamic critique of Smith’s thesis, highlighting the moral contradictions and gaps in his argument.
