Abstract
Based on the insights derived from elaborate discussion on the context of China and India, the authors put forth their point of view on the nature of continuing progressive transformation that will be beneficial to the society. The discussion on the progressive transformation in China and India covers regulatory and institutional changes, organization building and individuals in the society. The authors reflect on the importance of building strong institutions and safeguarding them. Some of the suggestions rest on the principles of the common good and building an equitable and just society. However, much also depends on bringing about a behavioural change in the society and instilling desirable traits and norms. The submissions may not be easy to implement, yet are practical to necessitate meaningful and systemic transformations.
