Abstract
I begin this chapter by discussing my own theoretical leanings as well as my writing methodology for two reasons. The first obvious reason is that I am a Composition scholar and it is my duty to do so. I’m not blind to the fact of biased research. I feel my perspective and my experience, though, are my strength and my edge, if you will. Also, I find it necessary to share my methodology, even though by doing so, I run the risk of being marginalized as a Composition scholar of color. I am a Latina interested in the field’s attention to Latinos/Latinas in the field and in the Composition classroom.
