Abstract
Austin Community College (ACC) (Texas), boasts 11 separate campuses spread across a metropolitan area that encompasses five counties and 4278 square miles (Metropolitan Areas, 2008) and served 37,294 students during the spring of 2014. Of these students, 4.7 % were classified as international students. ACC does not offer any on-campus residential areas, meaning that all students commute to and from the different campuses. Over 77 % of the students attend part-time and only one-quarter are in the traditional college age bracket of 19–21 years old (Austin Community College 2014).
