Abstract
If we are to enact meaningful reforms to stop the catastrophic effects of climate change, we first need to confront a number of powerful fantasies. We will no longer be able to pretend that the issue is debatable nor will we be able to hold onto hope that the crisis will simply dissipate through its own internal processes. As spectators of media constructions of climate change, we need to begin the arduous task of scrutinizing ideological traps associated with the problem: the numerous ways in which neoliberalism transforms solutions into marketable commodities.
