Margrethe II, born 16 April 1940; married 10 June 1967 to Prince Henrik, born Count de Monpezat; offspring: Crown Prince Frederik, born 26 May 1968; Prince Joachim, born 7 June 1969. She succeeded to the throne on the death of her father, King Frederik IX, on 14 Jan. 1972.
