Abstract
The question of human rights in Hong Kong has been a focus of attention since 4 June 1989. Following the mass demonstrations in Hong Kong in support of the Beijing students’ movement and in protest against its bloody suppression by the Chinese government, people inside and outside Hong Kong were to become more aware of the human rights issue and to regard it as one of the main problems to be solved during the transition process.
