Abstract

The Kingdom of the Yemen on 9 March 1958 combined with the United Arab Republic to form the United Arab States. Its ruler ia His Majesty, Imam Ahmad, son of the Imam Yahya (murdered on 17 Feb. 1948), who succeeded to the throne on 14 March 1948. Heir apparent is the Crown Prince, Saif Al-Islam Al-Badr, who is also Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister of Defence.
