Abstract

Austria recovered its sovereignty and independence on 27 July 1955 by the coming into force of the Austrian State Treaty between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and France on the one part and the Republic of Austria on the other part (signed on 15 May).
