Abstract

Haakon VII, bom 3 Aug. 1872; second son of Frederik VIII, King of Denmark, elected King of Norway by the Storting, 18 Nov. 1905; accepted the crown, 18 Nov. 1905; landed in Norway, 25 Nov. 1905; married, 22 July 1896, to Princess Maud, born 26 Nov. 1869 (died 20 Nov. 1938), the third daughter of Edward VII, King of Great Britain and Ireland.
