Abstract

Until 12 March, 1938, Austria remained an independent State; on that date it was forcibly absorbed in the German Reich until it was liberated by the armies of the United Nations. Already in the Moscow Declaration of Oct., 1943, Great Britain, the United States and the U.S.S.R. had resolved upon the re-establishment of a free and independent Austria.
