Abstract

Haakon VII, born 3 August, 1872; second son of Frederik VIII, King of Denmark, elected King of Norway by the Storting, 18 November, 1905; accepted the crown, 18 November, 1905; landed in Norway, 25 November, 1905; married, 22 July, 1896, to Princess Maud, born 26 November, 1869 (died 20 November, 1938), the third daughter of the late Edward VII, King of Great Britain and Ireland.
