Abstract
This book closes by turning to our contemporary wireless world and the place of modernist women within it, culminating in an epilogue that considers the uncanny presence of the women of modernism in digital technologies and their position in the archives and practices of contemporary digital humanities. The epilogue serves to affirm the historical specificity of modernist women’s engagement with leisure technologies in their poetry and the forms of lyric becoming they imagined, but also highlights what their experience of technologized subjectivities bequeaths to contemporary conceptions of the gendered subject and her relation to the diverse disturbances of machine amusements.
