Abstract
This chapter presents a concise tour de force of international space art, from Galileo Galilei’s Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems (1632) to Ilya Kabakov’s The Man Who Flew into Space from His Apartment (1968), Ronald Jones’s The Bed Neil Armstrong Slept in His First Night Back from the Moon (1969–98) and the author’s own SpacePlace: Art in the Age of Orbitization participatory mobile media installation (2006). With millennia of art in search of space, and centuries of art about space, now is the time for art in space.
