Abstract
Stratified high-rise residential buildings are the predominant residential form in urban areas in Malaysia. While management of this form of residential development is governed by a range of Acts, mismanagement remains widespread. Previous studies have identified a significant relationship between residential satisfaction and housing management performance in multi-family affordable housing. In this research a multiple stage random sampling process was used to investigate the experiences of high-rise residential communities in Selangor. It found that satisfaction with the residential environment, including the dwelling, neighbour and neighbourhood, improves housing management. Policymakers and strata corporations need to understand the importance of this relationship to the establishment and maintenance of sustainable high-rise living environments.
