Abstract

The Paralympic Movement and the United Nations share similar aspirations—to create a more inclusive and accessible society. This chapter examines the role the Paralympic Movement, and more specifically the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), have played in advancing the International Development Agenda. It outlines the collaboration between the United Nations and the IPC and concludes with recommendations on how the two entities can work together to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and foster more inclusive societies.
