Abstract
The development of catalytic reactions involving carbon–hydrogen bond cleavage is one of the most attractive research subjects in organic and organometallic chemistries. To date, a vast number of studies of C–H bonds cleavage using stoichiometric amounts of transition-metal complexes have appeared. In the last decade, a variety of catalytic reactions involving C–H bond cleavage have been reported. Among these reactions, ruthenium complexes have extensively been used as effective catalysts. In this review we briefly survey the results of these research activities with respect to the ruthenium-catalyzed reactions involving C–H bond cleavage.
