Abstract

The problem of the short term management of hydroelectric reserves is modelised in the form of a multicommodity network flow problem where a block represents the water balance of a valley.

We solve it by using partitioning technics, and solving the linear systems associated to a nonsingular flow matrix by the methods that we described in [4]. The performances of the code are interesting and the results we obtain are really attractive.

In a second section we describe an extension of the model and code that we consider to be of special interest.
