Abstract

In this and the following chapter the results of electron scattering and electron emission experiments with magnetic and non-magnetic solids are presented. We shall treat spin-orbit and exchange interaction separately, though from a physical point of view this separation is somewhat artificial since both types of interaction occur in both types of materials. Interference between polarization effects due to spin-orbit interaction and those due to exchange interaction are discussed in Chap. 5.
