Abstract
Results of an investigation with selenium purified by sublimation in vacuo:
-
1.
after thermal treatment in vacuo at 100° and 150°C.
-
2.
after repeated melting in vacuo and measurements with increasing maximum temperature,
-
3.
after prolongated thermal treatement in air above 150°C
Discussion of the influence of oxygen (impurities? recristallisation?).
Discussion of the anomalous positive and negative change of conductivity with temperature, when the selenium, is thermally treated in the vacuum only.
Supposition concerning the formation of effective impurities at the end of chains in hexagonal selenium.
Discussion of an investigation of L. M. Nijland 1954.
