Abstract

Oriented samples were crystallized with constant length and melted in a DSC-calorimeter. Analysing the crystallization-isotherms by means of the Avramitheory yields a one-dimensional growth of the crystallites from preexisting nuclei. This geometry of growth is independent of the degree of orientation for all samples investigated till now (>100% orientation).

Melting of the crystallized samples yields endotherms with a double-peak in the temperature-induced range. Variation of the degree of orientation and crosslinking permits a distribution to extended-chain crystallites and folded-chain crystallites. In an oriented system probably with increasing degree of orientation the appearance of extended-chain crystallites is preferred. Folded-chain crystallites however dominate with increasing degree of crystallinity.
