Abstract
Mr. Schottky appreciated very much the new experimental work communicated in the report. The existence of sublayers of different conductivity in the Al2O3 layer seems now to be settled beyond doubt. He was, however, of the opinion that the capacity currents are effectively influenced by ionic motion. The electronic space charge scarcely seems to be sufficient to account for these effects. Moreover, he felt that the supply of electrons from the metal and electrolyte electrode was nevertheless an important factor determining the d. c. and a. c. behaviour of the layer.
