Aggregation properties of a short chain nonionic amphiphile (C4E1) in water solutions

Abstract

We have studied the depolarized Rayleigh-Wing light scattering of aqueousd solutions of 2-butoxyethanol (C4E1) as a function of the temperature fand concentration. The measured spectra give information on the rotational dynamics of water molecules. The data analysis, with the results of recent surface tension measurements, confirm the amphiphilic character of the ethoxylated alcohol molecules.
