Abstract

The isotropic gelphase of a three-component-system composed of polyoxyethylene(10)oleyether (Brij 96®), mineral oil and water — the so called microemulsion gels — can be differentiated from other one-phase-systems by means of different physicochemical investigations e.g. rheological, differential calorimetic and conductometric measurements. These methods as well as small-angle X-ray diffraction studies allow the distinction from hexagonal and lamellar phases.
