Relationship between surfactant film bending elasticity and structure and interfacial tensions in microemulsion systems

We have investigated several microemulsion systems showing Winsor type phase equilibria. We have measured the surfactant film bending elasticity with ellipsometry and the interfacial tensions with surface light scattering experiments. Information about the structure has been deduced from light and X-ray scattering experiments. In order to interpret the ellipsometry measurements, a renormalization of both interfacial tension and bending elasticity has been used. These data are related with the existing theories to structural data of the microemulsion phases. A particular attention has been devoted to bicontinuous micremulsions.
