Abstract
In this paper the influence of styrene diffusion and its polymerization during the preparation of gradient polymers from LDPE is discussed. It is demonstrated that the monomer showing a partial dissolving ability modifies the structure of the host polymer. These structural changes are determined by the diffusion temperature T D and consist in the reorganization of amorphous and disordered crystalline phases which are accessible to the monomer.
