Entanglements in rubbers

Abstract

How topological constraints change deformation behaviour in rubbers is reported. The theory predicts short and high strain behaviour in fair agreement with the real world. Precise expressions for the trapping factor for the modulus, entanglement sliding, and finite extensibility in dense systems are given.
