Abstract

Gorkov’s equations, which form the basis and starting point for the present theory of type II superconductors are discussed. We give a synopsis of theoretical work based on these equations in a table representing the H-T-plane, which shows that many results are still lacking and that quantitative comparison between theory and experiment is hardly possible. New equations, derived from Gorkov’s are proposed as a convenient starting point for further theoretical work which aims at removing this deficiency.
