Abstract
The concept of the lattice electron, a mechanism characterized by the Hamiltonian
for each energy band, is a useful approximation.
has been measured in the neighbourhood of the Fermi-surface from resonance frequencies and the de Haasvan Alphen-effect, now also for normal metals as Cu, Ag, Au. These measurements can be a turning point in the investigation of electrons in metals.
