Abstract
Industrial flows are usually computed on non-orthogonal grids when structured meshes are used. An accurate method, called here the S scheme, exists for staggered arrangement of the unknowns to evaluate gradients on non-smooth grids. This paper shows how this strategy is applied to colocated grids and describes the improvements required to get accurate results. Tests are made for simple flows for which the grid has been artificially skewed. Comparisons with the usual colocated two-point discretization are favourable to the colocated adaption of the S scheme.
