Abstract

The effects of global coupling in oscillatory reaction-diffusion systems near the Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Global coupling, typical for the catalytic surface chemical reactions, significantly influences the properties of pattern formation. New kinds of patterns, such as cellular structures formed by standing waves and self-confined local turbulence, are found.
