Abstract

We present the results of numerical simulations of the propagation of supersonic jets and of their interaction with the external medium. We compute also the evolution of the distribution function of a population of relativistic electrons moving with the fluid and subject to adiabatic and synchrotron losses in a passively advected magnetic field. The results are discussed in connection with the formation and morphology of lobes in extragalactic radiosources.
