Abstract
The Intelligent Network (IN) architecture is an important step towards flexibly deploying and providing new telephony services. However, the IN suffers substantial shortcomings, particularly in view of the provisioning of data services and the rapid creation and deployment of new service types. This paper proposes a solution for providing data services in the IN based on agent technology. This approach also facilitates management of IN, e.g. service creation and deployment.
