Experiences in document conversions during the MeDoc project

Abstract

This paper summarizes the experiences made in converting printed books from various text file formats into electronic formats for use in the MeDoc library. Starting with an overiew of the source formats and conversion tools the problems arising with them are discussed and technical guidelines are given for the conversion process.
